Chikoka BBC had their first service in June 2016, and was birthed after 10 months of prayer, teaching, evangelizing and seeking where the Lord would direct our next concentrated focus to be. There are about 40-50 adults regularly in attendance, and 40+ children in Sunday School. Pastor Peter Sakala is faithfully leading this body of believers.
The church has been given a sizable parcel of land to build on, and the location is very central to several villages. This is often our location for united church service, where we try to gather as many of the members of our 10 churches as possible. It is a wonderful time of fellowship, worship and praise!
The story behind the name Chikoka is when the people were asked what they would like to call their church, they said the area was named after a river that used to flow through this region, and the meaning is "that which brings life to all that come near". They could think of no better name than CHIKOKA, for certainly the message of the Gospel will bring life to those who heed its life-changing message!
Chikoka began their meetings in a thatched shelter. After every service there is a hand-shaking recessional.
